What did the school want to achieve?
Foxmoor Primary School, based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, wanted to transform its playground into a more vibrant, welcoming and purposeful space. The school was keen to brighten the outdoor area and to encourage physical development, active play, and social interaction during breaktimes, PE lessons, and after-school clubs.
How did we help them achieve their desired outcome? Were there any problems, and how did we overcome them?
To meet these aims, our friendly playground designer worked with the school to create a bespoke plan, helping to choose the best markings for their needs and the space itself. Once the school had approved the plan, our specialist installation team headed to Foxmoor Primary in April 2025 to transform the playground.
The installation included a variety of exciting and educational thermoplastic playground markings. These featured a small netball court with clearly defined, brightly coloured lines, allowing pupils to enjoy team sports in a structured and safe environment. We also installed custom Shuttle Runs in four different colours, ideal for promoting fitness and fun during PE sessions and active playtimes.
One of the highlights of the installation was the vibrant, multicoloured Deluxe Dance with Me activity – a fantastic addition that encourages group participation, rhythm, and co-ordination. To support numeracy and cognitive development, we included several educational games such as a giant Snakes & Ladders 1–100 grid with an added dice, and our Solid Jump Games, which are perfect for combining number recognition with movement.
Additional custom features included fire points for added safety, and our popular Active Spot Circuit, which gives pupils simple prompts for bursts of movement, helping to keep energy levels high and bodies active throughout the day.
Our team worked efficiently and respectfully during term time, ensuring minimal disruption to school life. We even managed to incorporate a last-minute request for an extra playground feature, ensuring the final result matched the school’s evolving needs.
