High Halden C of E Primary School, Kent
What did the school want to achieve?
In June 2024, we had the pleasure of visiting High Halden Primary School in Ashford, Kent. As a small rural school, they are fortunate to have lots of space for the children to experience life outside of the classroom. The EYFS team recently took responsibility for a large unused area of their vast school grounds. Their goal was to transform this space into an engaging environment where pupils could develop and enhance their gross and fine motor skills along with their overall physical development. We were thrilled to collaborate with the staff to bring their vision to life and create a dynamic play area that supports the children’s growth and learning.

How did we help them achieve their desired outcome?
We helped High Halden Primary School achieve their desired outcome by first acknowledging the challenges presented by the awkwardly shaped space. From the outset, our design team engaged with the school, discussing project requirements and desired outcomes.
We turned their vision into reality by incorporating the school’s ideas and providing a unique, custom design tailored to their environment. We installed a custom roadway with various stations and signs, parking bays and an outline Hopscotch. The school were impressed with the personalised design and the ability to create the design to fit their budget. On the installation day, our team further adapted the design to meet the school’s needs, ensuring complete satisfaction.

Our comments on the finished playground
We really enjoyed working with High Halden Primary School, this project is a testament to our collaborative efforts and dedication to creating enriching outdoor spaces. The previously unused area has now been transformed into a fun and vibrant environment for the children. We are thrilled with the final result and proud to have contributed to a space where students can develop their gross and fine motor skills, as well as their overall physical development. The feedback from the school has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are delighted to have exceeded their expectations.

Testimonial from the school
“We are thrilled with the recent installation of brand new Early Years Foundation Stage playground markings, aimed at promoting physical development and active play for our youngest pupils. The design team were fabulous and the install team were courteous and polite, they really listened and made our vision come to life. We are really pleased all around.
The new playground markings are not only visually appealing but also serve as a fun and engaging way for our EYFS children to develop their physical skills. Excellent communication and customer service provided by Fun & Active Playgrounds made the entire process smooth and enjoyable for all involved. Our children were so excited when they first saw the markings and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on the physical development and playtimes of future pupils.”
