Elson Infant School wins free Active Trail for their playground
Earlier this year, our team wanted to give something back to the community, acknowledging the tough time that the pandemic has brought to schools, as well as many others, over the last year.
We decided to give away one of our awesome Active Trail playground markings, worth £795, to give children something to look forward to after returning from home-learning. A competition was launched on our Facebook page where teachers, parents and friends alike could nominate a school of their choice – and we were absolutely overwhelmed with the response!
After the competition received over 1000 entries, Elson Infant School in Gosport, Portsmouth, was chosen at random as the winner. The school were delighted to have been picked and couldn’t wait to get the installation underway.
Headteacher, Hayley, said “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been selected. Thank you to all our wonderful parents and teachers for nominating us. We can’t wait to get the trail installed for the children!”
On Monday 1 March, our team visited the school to install their prize, and met some of the first children to have a go at their new trail. With jump, skip, hop, balance, hands, and sprint stations, our 60m Active Trail playground marking will be great at getting pupils to be active and have fun during playtimes. Plus, the trail was installed just in time for the return of the rest of their classmates on Monday 8 March. Watch the installation video here!
Our Marketing Executive, Jess, says “We are delighted to have been able to give back to a local school whilst we’re all going through a particularly challenging time. We know how important it is for children to get their daily exercise so it’s been great to help boost their outdoor activity, and to give the students something to look forward to.”
