Pricing
-
How long does installation take?
It depends on the size of the project, although most of our installations are completed within 1 day.
-
How are the markings applied?
We apply the markings by heating them onto the surface with a propane lance, creating a bond with the tarmac.
-
Why is the tarmac darker around the markings?
There are two reasons why the tarmac may look darker round the edges of the markings at first. We use heat to apply the markings which will draw bitumen to the surface. This will fade over time. We also apply a surface primer on older grounds to seal the surface in preparation for the markings. This is dark in colour and is used on a larger area than the markings require to ensure total coverage for longer lasting playground markings. This will also fade over time.
-
Why is there chalk around the markings?
We mark all of our games out with chalk before installation to ensure everything is the correct size and in line for placement. The chalk marks will wash away with the first good rainfall or can be jet washed away if you prefer.
-
What is the dust you put over the markings?
The preformed thermoplastic we use has a slip-resistant standard of 65, however, we add a little more crushed glass for initial slip resistance when installing!
-
How long after installation can your markings be used?
After the markings have been heated onto the ground, they take around 10-20 minutes to cool and solidify, ready for pedestrian use. We recommend leaving longer for vehicle use.
-
Can the design be adjusted on site?
Our install teams are happy to assist with any minor positioning changes on the day with the existing games ordered.
-
Are the installers DBS checked?
Yes, all of our installers have enhanced DBS checks and these will be shared with you before your installation date.
-
How does the installation process work when the school is open?
We complete playground marking installations throughout the year, including during term time. We are happy to work around your lunch and break times, where our install teams can use safety cones and barrier tape to work on different areas in the playground. Many schools will hold wet play for the day to minimise disruption to access.
-
Is there anything I need to provide on the day of installation?
We kindly ask that the playground has a clean surface, free from any moss, leaves, and mud, and has not been gritted. We will need uninterrupted access to complete the work as efficiently as possible, though if we need to stop at any time, we ask that you make us aware before so that we can plan the installation around this.
-
Do you have a risk assessment?
Yes, we have a risk assessment that we can share with you prior to your installation date.
