Locks Heath Infant School receives free Active Trail

Locks Heath Infant School receives free Active Trail playground marking after being selected as the winner of our popular Facebook competition.
Since the beginning of the year, we have been running a competition on our Facebook page every month to give schools a chance to win a free Active Trail playground marking. Our team knew that the pandemic has been tough on schools as well as many others and so wanted to do something to give back to the community. Worth £795, the Active Trail playground marking is the perfect way to get children active during their playtimes and inspire them to keep fit.
After receiving hundreds of entries from teachers, parents and friends nominating different schools for the prize, Locks Heath Infant School were chosen at random as the lucky winner of our March competition.
Headteacher, Rick Jump said “We are all so excited at winning this competition. The children will benefit so much from the Active Trail, especially at a time where physical well-being is so important for us all. A big thank you to all of the team.”
They now join Elson Infant School, our January winner, in being able to encourage their pupils to get moving and have fun with different types of movement, including, jumping, skipping, hopping, crawling, balancing and sprinting.
Locks Heath Infants now not only benefit from this playground favourite, but also many other colourful playground markings as they decided utilise their Sport Premium funding to really bring their two playgrounds to life. They chose to add on a range of different games and activities to promote active learning and play, including a Phonics Pond, Roadway, 0-20 Dragon, Snakes & Ladders, Mr Wolf, Duck Duck Goose, and a football court.
After installing their new playground markings on Monday 19 April, we returned to the school the following week to see the children in action. We were able to capture some lovely photos and really enjoyed seeing how excited the students were to play with their new games.
