The Makaton Playground Communication Panel helps children communicate effectively during playtime using familiar Makaton symbols that represent common playground activities and interactions. Developed in partnership with the Makaton Charity, each purchase supports the charity’s ongoing work in promoting accessible communication.
Built from recycled black core XD-Eco material with a protective polycarbonate graphic face, the panel is designed to withstand outdoor conditions while maintaining clear, easy-to-read symbols. Positioned in playgrounds, sensory areas or outdoor learning zones, it supports pupils who use alternative communication methods and helps create a more inclusive environment where every child can take part in play and social interaction.
By enabling children to point to symbols representing activities, needs or choices, the panel encourages independence, confidence and collaboration with peers. Available with strong aluminium T-slot posts for freestanding installation, the panel can be combined with other communication or activity panels to create customised communication stations across the playground.
