Hackbridge Primary School, Surrey
What did the school want to achieve?
Hackbridge Primary School were due to open a brand new site in November 2019 to expand their four form Primary School. They wanted to enhance the freshly tarmacked playgrounds at this newly built school, and had an aim to turn their blank canvas into a visually appealing outdoor area, with brightly-coloured markings that their children could enjoy during break-times.
How did we help them achieve their desired outcome? Were there any problems, and how did we overcome them?
A combination of different playground marking categories were chosen including educational, active and fun games, making sure there was going to be something for all age groups at the school.
A 0-20 Snake, Number Grid and Snakes & Ladders game were chosen to assist with teaching maths and learning numbers. The Phonic Flower Bed and A-Z Dragon were used to encourage development of reading and writing skills. Plus, a number of fun games were used for children to enjoy on their lunch breaks including, Mr Wolf, Hopscotch, Playground Trails and Roadways. These games used together make for a very engaging an interactive outdoor area.
Our comments on the finished playground
We’re very pleased to have been a part of this project with Hackbridge Primary School, making sure the pupils have a completely fresh and engaging environment for playtimes. The playground is now bursting with vibrant colours and not only does it help to encourage physical activity, but it makes outdoor learning enjoyable for all!
