Pompey in the Community, Portsmouth
What did they want to achieve?
Pompey in the Community is an award-winning charity that harnesses Portsmouth Football Club‘s motivational power to promote education, healthy living, sporting participation and achievement among vulnerable and disadvantaged people of all ages.
They contacted us as they wanted to provide a unique and vibrant area to inspire further physical activity across all demographics and sports. Their goal was to encourage physical activity, enhance social interaction, and provide opportunities for both fun and learning through vibrant, interactive designs.
How did we help them achieve their desired outcome?
Initially, we hosted a site survey where we discussed Pompey in the Community’s requirements, their budget, any potential barriers or concerns about the installation process and plan where they would like their new markings to be positioned.
We installed a 28m x 13m Sports Coated Multi-Court that included a Basketball court, Football pitch and a Pickleball court. We also installed a custom Pompey In The Community Logo in the centre of the court. The newly installed multi court has allowed PITC to deliver numerous new offerings such as pickleball, bootcamps and now tape ball cricket in a safe environment with further plans for adapted netball sessions. The new court is accessible for all ages and demographics, including those with mobility issues (walking/chair aids) and adds another string to their bow at the community hub.
Our comments on the finished project
We were excited to collaborate with Pompey in the Community to install a Sports Coating Multi-court. It’s always a pleasure to partner with a renowned local community hub that shares our passion for supporting and educating children, whilst promoting physical activity. Together we have created a space that inspires healthy, active lifestyles for young people in our local community.
