All Saints C of E Primary School, Essex
What did the school want to achieve?
In June 2024, we visited All Saints C of E Primary School in Harwich, Essex. The school had been saving and hosting fundraising events to raise enough money to resurface the playground and have some new vibrant playground markings installed. All Saints Primary School wanted the space to be somewhere the children could have fun but also wanted a strong emphasis on supporting physical and mental development.
How did we help them achieve their desired outcome?
Initially, we hosted a Virtual Survey where we discussed All Saints Primary School’s requirements, their budget, any potential barriers or concerns they had about the installation process and plan where they would like their new markings to be positioned. During the Virtual Survey, we also made some suggestions about alternative markings that supported their requirements and budget.
We installed a wide variety of playground markings including an Active Spot Circuit, Mirror Me, World Map, Square Maze, Multiplication Grid and a Jump Game.
Our comments on the finished playground
We’ve loved working with All Saints Primary School, bringing their vision to life! We designed a playground filled with a variety of fun games and educational activities, perfect for pupils of all ages. A big thank you to the school staff and community for their support and collaboration throughout the project.
Testimonial from the school
“Within a month of our meeting with Abigail, the playground markings were completed. I did have some reservations about installation being during the school day as our pupils have to cross our playground to access their classrooms. However, I need not have been concerned. The team, who are obviously very experienced in working in these situations, carefully planned out the order in which they laid the markings to ensure the least amount of disruption possible.
“I was really impressed with the whole process and despite having quite specific needs, a non-negotiable budget and a very tight deadline, Fun & Active Playgrounds were able to take all of this on board and meet all of our requirements.
“I could tell you my thoughts on the finished product, or list the endless positive comments that we have received from adults and visitors, but I think the best, most honest reviews, come from the pupils themselves so …”
They are amazing … we can now do maths, stretch and jump all at the same time!
I like the long jump and times tables – they teach us whilst we play.
If you can’t decide what to do at break or lunchtimes, you can use the markings to help you decide.
There is so much choice now.
I like it as the older children can help the younger children and we play together at the same time.
They just make me happy!
