Haselworth Primary School, Hampshire
What did the school want to achieve?
When we first heard from Admin officer, Emma, it was clear that the playgrounds at Haselworth Primary School needed some colour and playtime structure. The playground had been resurfaced a few years before and had a very blank canvas. Emma wanted to create a fun and educational playground for the pupils whilst also encouraging the children to keep active. Haselworth had been budgeting for some time to allow them to really enhance the children’s play space and give the playground a strong sense of excitement.
How did we help them achieve their desired outcome? Were there any problems, and how did we overcome them?
In preparation for the site survey, Emma had been meeting with the school council to come up with a design for the playground, choosing the children’s favourite markings from each class. The designs the children had chosen were of great variety, ranging from active trails to help improve the children’s fitness, to cognitive skills as they work their way through the daunting depths of our pirate maze.
Our comments on the finished playground
We transformed the plain tarmac space into a vibrant area for active, imaginative play games with a fantastic selection of thermoplastic playground markings. The colourful space presents children with a fun opportunity to further challenge and improve their physical development in the playground.
