Our March winner receives their playground marking prize

On Friday 29 April, the Fun & Active team visited Corpus Christi RC Primary School in Portsmouth to install their playground marking prize. The school received an exciting Jurassic Phonics playground marking worth £1,315 which will surely help to develop their pupils’ literacy skills by teaching them the different phase 2 and 3 sounds.
Earlier in the year, we launched a Facebook competition whereby one lucky school would be chosen at random to win the prize. Thanks to Corpus Christi’s fantastic PTA, the school were entered and ended up being selected as the winner back in March.
In between then, the school staff sat down with our playground marking specialist and designer to decide where they wanted their new design to go in their playground. Installation was then scheduled in for the morning of 29 April – a lovely Friday treat for their pupils!
Whilst our install team were working, the school children came out to see the progress where they could see how thermoplastic markings are installed. Later, once installation was finished, the children came back out for their first go on their new playground marking.
It was great to see the children doing their best dinosaur impressions and learning the different species as well as familiarising themselves with the different phonic sounds too.
Each of our playground markings are specifically designed to encourage outdoor learning and play. At a time where getting fresh air and exercise is more important than ever following the pandemic, the Jurassic Phonics will make a positive difference to the children’s break times.
