Originating from Africa, Asia and South America, the Tongue Drum, more commonly known as the Slit Drum, is one of the oldest percussion instruments. Children will create a calming musical zone as they strike the Sapele timber top with either the beaters provided or foraged natural materials to compare the notes produced.
Encourage the exploration of feelings and the relief of any stress whilst the pupils conduct soothing musical pieces either independently or collaboratively.
The ‘play grade’ timber frame and hardwood Sapele top are durable materials, which, combined with the slits in the drum to avoid rain buildup, enable this freestanding playground equipment to be enjoyed all year round.
